Women, Spirituality and Entrepreneurship

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Last night’s theme is all in the title. In this strange economic era we are presently coping with, many times it is women who lead the way by envisioning their dreams for success in the business world and who then go out and make it happen.

Kristen Schuerlein is a great example of this. She is a big believer in the practice of setting big, bold intentions and following her inner guidance on the path to success. That’s how she started her own company based on a product anyone would enjoy: Affirmawraps. Try wrapping yourself in a warm, cozy blanket adorned with a powerful affirmation of faith and principled success the next time life hands you a setback. Better yet, give one of these fluffy beauties to celebrate your loved one’s successes and at holidays. You can see for yourself how desirable Affirmawraps are and also check out Kristen’s story and blog at www.affirmagy.com

It was a pleasure to spend the second hour (albeit with telephone troubles) with Kathleen Lowden, publisher of The Voice of Choices and my friend Tammy Holmes, one of the Southwest’s most popular psychics and workshop leaders in the area of personal empowerment. Both of these ladies are spiritual entrepreneurs and fearless raisers of consciousness in an age when all of us are required to think for ourselves to offset the cumulative effects of negativity. Their message seems to be: if the trends are not going your way, be your own trendsetter and start from the inside for best results. See www.voiceofchoices.com for a look at a good grassroots-style publication aimed at metaphysicians and truth-seekers. Tammy has a fun website to visit at www.stayawakeproductions.com

Thanks to the growing number of listeners that assure me of the wisdom in moving the show to an earlier time. I have not heard from anybody that opposed the decision. Looks like we got one right!

7 O’Clock Rock and Howard Bono, Too

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Our first show in the new timeslot was exciting and very rewarding, if I say so myself. Hour 1 was well-spent with musician Eddie Watkins, Jr. who is a legendary bassist with many Motown acts. In recent yeras, he has followed his instincts into singing and writing his own music in addition to covering R & B classics and other standards. Eddie is a master and his focused determination is inspiring to anyone that needs a role model for following their passion… Eddie is performing this Friday night at 7:00 in a show called Motown & Miracles. For details and tickets, go to www.spiritualliving.org

I was happy when Howard Bono agreed to spend an hour with me on-air; it meant that his distilled essence of financial acumen would reach at least a few new sets of ears. I have learned what common sense about money sounds like from working alongside him every Tuesday at noon on 1150 KKNW: Howard is host of The Money Thing and author of The Money Thing Made Easy. He built a multi-million dollar fortune from scratch by applying sound principles of personal finance and the strength of his entrepeneurial willpower. It’s not that nothing in the economy can slow him down (as he admitted forthrightly during the interview) but he appears unstoppable. If you missed the show, you owe it to yourself to listen to the archived hour once we get it posted. No matter how formidable your present financial problems might be, you will gain a sense of mastery (and fighting back!) from absorbing what Howard Bono has to teach you about the economic “facts of life.” For more about Howard and his philosophy of prosperity, see www.themoneything.com
