Boston Scores With Assist From Mike

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Boston Carter made her first appearance on the show Sunday and impressed me with her thoughtful theorizing on karma and the many things that can go wrong (or manifest imbalances, she might say) in the human body.

Since I’m against using airtime to do my own version of show-and-tell beyond what is necessary to let the listeners know who is talking to them on shared time, it felt right to bring the articulate and personable Mike Roberge on-air to engage Boston autobiographically. They were very good together. Many thanks to Mike for being so forthcoming about his health and personal histories: Above and beyond, my friend!

Boston utilized Mike to offer some idea of how she works as a medical intuitive. Beyond simply having a goodly sum of knowledge about the body, she also has developed an intricate cosmology that abets her career. There is much more to be learned from Boston Carter and the mental universe she inhabits. She will return!

A special nod to producer Suzanne for her analysis of a story about the degree to which our society is hampered by attention deficit. Not the formally diagnosed ADD or ADHD, mind you. No, this is the simple lack of attention that besets us in our daily lives. Turns out, this is costly to Americans financially and interpersonally. When introduced to someone, how long is it before you forget their name? THAT is essentially what Suzanne, Mike and myself were talking about. A topic worth revisiting.

What about Boston (Carter)?

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

This Sunday night, I will have the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Boston Carter. At the same time, I am anticipating a concise education in the practice of the medical intuitive. It sounds strange on the surface because ‘medical’ and ‘intuitive’ seem, well, counter-intuitive. Yet the few people with whom I’ve discussed this unusual subject have no problem accepting intuitive perceiving as part of a diagnostic inquiry. I’m more than a little intruiged by the implications. Boston Carter maintains a fine website at www.nowageknowledge.com

From that site, some introductory info about a unique guest just ahead on 1150 KKNW and The Gary Mantz Show:

“I am a medical intuitive with the ability to see illness inside the body and communicate with it to find out why it’s there. Illness is caused by psychological processes, physical environment or karmic processes. If the reason is karmic, then it is either debt or contract and there isn’t much that can be done about it. If the cause of illness is psychological or physical, there is plenty that can done about it.

With the ability to see information within a person and feel someone’s emotional and mental processes, my interest in understanding how we work with energy (spirit) is no accident.  I am dedicated to continued research and exploration to discover all the information I can to help all of us better understand how we work with spirit to create life on earth.

As you will glean from looking around this site, I’m not just a medical intuitive, but I don’t know how to explain me in a way that makes sense so I won’t bother to try any further than I have. This is because I can’t explain it to myself either. You’ll figure it out, and even if you don’t, it doesn’t matter because none of the information on this site that pertains to you needs to be about me. I will tell you though, because I don’t think you could know for sure otherwise, I am physically female. I am very gender neutral and this is on purpose, karmicly speaking. My neutrality allows me a unique balance of energy that helps me to access information in other realms, which is why I’m here. I appear neutral, I sound neutral and my name is no clue either.

Some of the terms that describe me are clair-voyant, clair-audient and clair-sentient. I do private readings both in person and over the phone for all subject matters with the exception of speaking to those who’ve passed over.”

That’s OK, Boston. The latter exception is a subject for another episode!

Dr. J and Bill P.

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

It was great to have Dr. J Littel back in the studio with me Sunday night for another interview on the subjects of Naturopathy and self-managed health care. We got some good questions from callers too. Dr. J is a strong advocate of educating oneself in the ways of health maintenance and disease prevention. The time and effort can seem like a big commitment but the payoff is, to borrow an old saying, more years in your life and more life in your years. I will have the Doctor back on a recurring basis, not only for his wealth of knowledge about health matters but also for the chance to ask him about his fascination with arcane subjects like Earth changes, conspiracies and mysteries of the ancient world. Who really built those pyramids, anyway?

And then there was my friend William Puckett, whose star as a Washington-based ufologist is rising due to his scientifically astute contributions to case research on the History Channel and other TV and radio programs. It is always a challenge deciding where to begin an interview with William; his knowledge base on cases classic and current is very impressive. On the other hand, it’s great knowing that with Bill, you can start anywhere and not get lost! Listen for his return appearances early in 2009. I hope to pair him with other expert ufologists and get some hot UFO discussions going during cold winter nights.

Getting Astrologicky

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Last night’s show was a lot of fun, as much due to the variety of callers as the expertise and personal warmth of the lady I refer to as our “house astrologer,” Eileen Grimes. Once again, I was impressed with the all-encompassing reach of Astrology as a measured art and personality science. During the interview with Eileen, I avoided the shopworn charge of mainstream scientists that it is nothing but pseudo-science. The latter crowd probably will never acknowledge any degree of validity in Astrology. So be it. I have seen its predictions borne out by the events of my life and the lives of my intimates so often that I sometimes struggle with a lack of objectivity on the side of enthusiasm! And as a study of human personality, astrologers are capable of delivering nuanced analyses with the additional value of predictive accuracy. Is this inevitably the case? Hardly. As I have said before when debating this point, I could put you in touch with plumbers that screw up a job so badly that you would flatly reject the validity of plumbing!  It all comes down to the skill of the practitioner. The mainstream world of Science will not accept this. That is fine with me. Astrology is there to be used or left on the shelf like any set of tools. As for its professionals, Eileen Grimes for one is welcome on my show anytime.

One down…

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Show number one was an enjoyable return to the KKNW airwaves in the host chair. Hats off to my guests, Lauren Archer and Leslie Rule. Each brought a depth of perspective to the program. Hypnosis followed by a chronicling of haunted places. Definitely not your ordinary talk show. As I anticipated, there were a few technical glitches and crossed signals in the studio but on the whole, not a bad launch.

This Sunday night, we will devote 90 minutes to Astrology with Eileen Grimes. I call her the house astrologer because of our friendship and the easy style she brings to her radio appearances with me. One thing to listen for especially: Eileen is a longtime O.J. Simpson tracker. I can’t wait to hear her take on his conviction on multiple charges and pending sentencing. Eileen has a great karmic radar; it is never more sharply attuned than when trained on the fallen football icon. But wait, there’s more! Eileen will be doing live mini-readings in the 11 o’clock hour. Tune in and be ready to jump on the phone when the invitation comes! And you are cordially invited to tell your friends about it. The more, the merrier, yes?

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Tonight I return to the 1150 KKNW airwaves. It’s become obligatory to use the commonplace “I’m so blessed,” as a way to signal peers that something good is happening or at least anticipated in one’s life. Sort of like saying quick-and-dirty grace before a meal that you would not feel right eating in the absence of a pious proclamation.

Am I blessed? A little more than three weeks ago, surgeons cut a cancerous tumor off my right kidney and told me essentially to hop on the hamster wheel of diagnostic medicine for the next five years. And lose some weight. A sit-up or walk along the Burke-Gilman trail would not kill me, either. Good advice, Docs. I’m officially trying. So yes, I’m blessed alright. No empty words this time. I’m feeling healthy again. And challenged to keep the big picture in mind. That includes my sporadic pursuit of a career as an alternative talk host, i.e. a guy who spends a good portion of his time thinking up topics for nighttime radio chatter that pointedly excludes a regurgitation of the daily news and political stew. And then following through on-air with whatever nerve and wit ride on my shoulder of a given evening. Politics? I’ll leave that for the pundits. My mental energy is vested in the people that seek a greater degree of Life Mastery and from whom we might learn some valuable lessons. I am equally fond of talking to authors and other intelligent humans with theories, stories and insights on any number of stubborn Mysteries that capture the imagination. I love talking to people who lie awake at night wondering about  the meaning of it all. Why are we here? Whose purpose is served by the fact of existence? Who else might share this Universe with us as sentient voyagers looking for shortcuts through the Void? Or are we alone as players in a cosmic one-act tragicomedy staged in a web of uncountable galaxies? Maybe Homer Simpson is closer to the mark when he asserts, “Nah, it’s just a bunch of stuff that happened.”  THAT would be disappointing.

So the first show of the new talk liturgy commences tomorrow night at 10 pm on 1150 AM. I hope it will prove to be a good place to hang out. I purposely chose the time slot for its position on the cusp of the weekend just spent and the week yet to begin. Another guy with a bright idea got the naming rights to the space I’m talking about: The Twilight Zone. May this humble, halting effort bear witness to the genius that made such a time and place special to my generation and many to follow. If it’s scary, good. If the hours you stay tuned are filled with signs and portents, even better. I’ll ask some big questions. I hope that you will, too. I love callers with smart things to say. To any and all who take the time to listen, the welcome mat is rolled out. Hope you enjoy the show.
